Lot Essay

Raglan Castle No.5008 was built at Swindon, June 1927, under Lot No.234, cost 6,839, and was withdrawn from Old Oak Common shed in September 1962, total distance covered 1,798, 646 miles. A double chimney was fitted in March 1961.
The Castle was built around1465 as the last of the great military castles but ended up as a splendid Tudor palace. It was sacked by the Roundheads in 1646.
