A sack back gown of ivory silk brocaded in green, blue, pink, yellow and purple silks with sprays of large scale exotic peony and bell shaped flowers, with shadow flush pattern of trailing foliage in the ground, with double sleeve ruffles on one sleeve and partial robings trimmed with fly braid, with later stomacher stitched in at the front, mid 18th century, the silk circa 1735, probably Lyon, alterations and removals; and an associated petticoat woven disposition in ivory silk, the field figured with foliate rosettes and spotted with small diamonds, the border brocaded in coloured silks with scrolling flowers and fruits, enclosed within blue and yellow scrolls against a satin ground, with a shadow flush pattern at the hem, the robings at the front trimmed with fly braid, mid 18th century, the silk circa 1735-40, slight damage
