An unusual open robe of canary yellow silk, block printed and stencilled with scrolling passion flowers, cornflowers and other stylised flowers in shades of pink, purple, blue and green, trimmed with matching robings, the dress originally probably a polonaise gown, circa 1780, the silk third quarter of 18th century, the dress altered circa 1800 with additional pale blue under-sleeves and lining, French, slight wear
