OF SCOTTISH INTEREST - A VICTORIAN SILVER CENTREPIECE
maker's mark of Mortimer & Hunt, London, 1840
On spreading triangular base with three shell and acanthus volute feet, applied with a figure of Bacchus and two female attendants, (one with staff detached), the acanthus foliage stem with pierced scrolling foliage and flowerhead basket; with plated circular mirrored stand on four scroll feet, with fruiting vine border, contained in a fitted box
