A painted oak dresser, Rhineland, early 18th century
of large size, brown painted overall and with polychrome panels of flowers and trees, the upper section with overhanging moulded cornice and spiral twist supports, two shelves and pierced scrolling sides, the lower section enclosed by a pair of twin panelled doors flanking a centre section with ripple moulded drawer and two further panels below, inscribed Anno 1723, with moulded apron and sleigh feet -- 79in. (201cm.) wide, 90in. (220cm.) high, 24in. (61cm.) deep
