The case with breakarch hood with chamfered front angles, glazed circular side panels, with fielded panels to the front door, the trunk with rectangular top panelled door, on stepped plinth with quatreform mouldings and wavy skirting (later raised on further plinth with bun feet), the silvered 8in. diameter dial of regulator format and signed Capt.n W. Mudge R.N., with engraved rings to the centre, seconds above date ring centred by a manually adjusted day of week disc, with winding square to the hour ring below, the six pillar movement with Vulliamy type deadbeat anchor escapement and maintaining power, with suspension to the top of the movement plates for the wood rod pendulum with spherical lead bob and calibrated rating nut (rod replaced); movement seatboard replaced; brass weight and winding key, two door keys
