A .31 CALIBRE UNWIN & RODGERS PERCUSSION KNIFE PISTOL
Circa 1860
With octagonal German silver barrel marked Unwin & Rodgers (not marked NON*XLL or other variation of that trade-mark). Ivory grip scales, German silver ferrule, brass sheathed folding trigger, butt with German silver hinged trap for balls and caps. Together with a pack of fancy Belgian faro cards Great Mogul Superior Cards by Leonard Biermans Soc. Anme.
Blades lightly cleaned and showing some staining, ivory with aged patina, mechanically excellent.
3.3/8 inch barrel, 3 inch "spear-point" blade, 6 inches overall with blades folded.
Unwin & Rodgers, Sheffield, Yorkshire 1827-1868. Patented the "knife- pistol" in 1860, patent no. 2801. (2)
