The sighted two stage, over and under barrels with octagonal breeches are encased within a carved walnut fore-end (losses) with two gilt brass pipes and brass tipped ram rod. Brass fore-sight. Side locks engraved with dogs, stags, and two seated figures. The lock plates inscribed Joseph Hamerl and In Weinn in turn. Varnished figured walnut stock with carved decorative moldings. Pierced gilt brass escutcheon plate featuring an amourial figure and grotesque face. The gilt brass stirrup-type pommel cap embellished on one side with a seated armourial figure holding the balance scale of justice and a sword; the other side with an armourial figure seated between two lions, the whole surrounding a grotesque snarling face. Gilt brass trigger guard cast with scrolls and an armoured figure.
