A CORE-FORMED GLASS ALABASTRON
eastern mediterranean, possibly from rhodes
circa late 6th-5th century b.c.
Dark blue in color, the slightly tapering cylindrical body with rounded bottom, short cylindrical neck and flat rim-disk, with opaque white and turquoise marvered threads wound spirally on the body and tooled into a zig-zag pattern on the middle of the body, with opaque turquoise thread at the edge of the rim and twin dark blue vertical ring handles with kobbed tails
