A CORE-FORMED GLASS ALABASTRON
eastern mediterranean, possibly syro-palestinian
circa 2nd-mid 1st century b.c.
Dark blue in color, the straight-sided fusiform body with convex pointed bottom, cylindrical neck and horizontal rim-disk, with a marvered opaque yellow thread attached at the top of the mouth and wound spirally along the entire length of the body, the thread tooled into a festoon pattern on the neck and a feather pattern on the body, with twin dark blue lugs on the shoulders
