A TONDO
FAENZA, CIRCA 1515, ATTRIBUTED TO THE PAINTER OF THE CARICATURES

Painted in shades of blue, ochre, yellow and green and enriched with white highlights with two blacksmiths working at a forge, waering contemporary dress, the anvil resting on a tree stump, the underside a calza with concentric blue bands alternating with three ochre bands and with a Damiron collection label inscribed in red No. 39 and with paper collection label typed TR 8848/22--11in. (28cm.) diam.
