The circular dish with central moulded ring and shallow sloping sides, painted against a blue ground with a portrait profile to left of a young girlwearing an ochre stomacher, green damask bodice with manganese sleeves, pearl chocker and a gold chain sautoir, her hair caught in a green snood, named in blue on an ochre ribbon B.E.R.NA.DI.N.A.B.E.L.A, the whole within concentric ochre and blue bands overpainted with bands of scales, the underside with a calza with concentric blue lines and with a Damiron collection label inscribed in red no. 38, also with a typed paper collection label inscribed TR 8848/21 (pierced for hanging)--11in. (28cm.) diam.
