AN OSTROGOTHIC SILVER EAGLE-HEADED BUCKLE

The end of the kidney-shaped loop terminating in stylized animal heads, the eyes and each end with collar-set cabochon garnets, with a double band of scrolling along the length, each side of the hooked tongue set with garnets, both elements hinged to the rectangular plate, a projecting eagle-head opposite, the eye and each corner of the plate set with cabochon garnets, a large oval glass in the center, framed with bands of scrolling and geometric ornament
