Engraved portrait of Boccaccio by Lempereur after Gravelot, engraved title to each volume by various engravers after Gravelot, 110 engraved plates by Le Mire, Lempereur, Flipart and others after Gravelot (89), Boucher, Cochin and Eisen, and numerous engraved head- and tail-pieces after Gravelot. (Occasional slight discoloration.) Contemporary red morocco gilt, covers with triple fillet borders, flat spines gilt in compartments with floral and foliate tools, pairs of brown morocco lettering-pieces, board edges and turn-ins gilt, gilt edges, blue pastepaper endleaves (vol. II with small repair to front cover and turn-ins rubbed, occasional minor wear to joints and extremities); slipcases. Provenance: H. Freeman (19th-century signature); Geoffrey D. Hobson (bookplates).
