Types 9:165 G (headings, 16:110BG (text). Xylographic title, 2- and 3-line pearled Lombard initials, 645 woodcuts repeated to a total of 1809 illustrations (Sydney Cockerell's count), including two double-page maps of the world (Shirley 19) and Europe, 29 town views extending across two pages, and 8 full-page cuts, By Michael Wohlgemut, Wilhelm Pleydenwurff and their workshops. Spaces for larger initials. (Title page and 9 leaves supplied from a shorter copy [strengthened in outer margins], some corners restored, some occasional wormholes, some 16th century annotations in ink.) A rembotage, using a seventeenth century polished calf binding, possibly from a liturgical manuscript, covers blindstamped and with brass center- and cornerpieces, two leather straps (spine slightly worn and with old restorations).
