The Kastamonitai family provided the empire with several administrators during the eleventh and twelth centuries (see J Katsaros, John Kastamonites...(in Greek), Thessalonika 1988). Euphrosynia Kastamonites was the mother of the emperors Isaac II and Alexis III Angelos. Demetrios is not known from other sources.
