Hans Reichel, born in Wrzburg, initially was a self-taught artist and became a friend of the Swiss painter Paul Klee. He shared with him a passion for primitive, dream-like images which he primarily captured in watercolours. He worked in Munich until 1929, from where he moved to Paris. Works by him are found in the Stdel in Frankfurt a. M. and the Stdtische Galerie in Munich.
