Early 19th Century
Each with a pierced shaped back with panelled tablets centred by a foliate urn within a lozenge, the padded seats upholstered in striped beige and brown close-cut velvet, on square tapering legs and ormolu sabots, minor losses to the brass inlay, one leg replaced (6)

Reputedly from Eaton Hall, Cheshire.

Lot Essay

A related set of six Swedish mahogany dining-chairs with sabre legs and open shield-shaped backs were anonymously sold in these Rooms, 27 May 1993, lot 141. A further similar set, with turned legs, was sold anonymously in these Rooms, 10 December 1992, lot 162.
