A SAFAVID SLIP PAINTED CELADON GLAZED SOFT PASTE PORCELAIN DISH
KIRMAN, SOUTH EAST PERSIA, FIRST HALF 17TH CENTURY
With fluted cavetto and narrow sloping rim on short foot, the celadon interior painted with a white slip forming a central interlaced arabesque panel with pendant surrounded by exuberant flowering vine issuing from a single flowerhead, a band of similar lappet decoration around the rim, the exterior plain, the underside of the foot glazed white, repaired clean rim break, very slight staining
