2nd Class Master Gunner A. Pinder was Mentioned in Despatches by Lord Kitchener for the engagement at Nooitgedacht. He, along with three other Artillerymen, 'Rendered excellent service in getting three ammunition wagons out of camp. They also ran down by hand three other wagons, all the time under fire' (Despatch dated 8.3.1901 refers).
