A very rare famille rose 'European Subject' plate
Circa 1745
Enamelled to the centre with an unusual decoration of a group of three men seated on Queen Anne stools merrily drinking glasses of wine, two attendants standing aside and holding the carafs, all between two groups of buildings on both sides of a riverbank, surrounded by a Louis XV style border en grisaille and gilt with palmette and scroll motifs around the well, repeated more elaborately in green, iron-red, sepia and gilt on the flat rim (grazed chip to the outer rim)
