Arita Ware, Kakiemon Style, Edo Period (circa 1700)
With barbed rim and divided into six lobes painted in polychrome enamels over clear glaze with chrysanthemums and plum blossoms within double-lines of underglaze-blue, the well enamelled with a chrysanthemum spray, the underside of the dish painted in underglaze-blue with scrolling foliage and a blue circle outlining the foot ring, double blue lines encircling the foot and three spur marks on base, spurious Ming dynasty Chenghua reign mark in underglaze-blue on base
