Arita Ware, Edo Period (19th Century)
Deep, with raised ring foot and everted rim, decorated in polychrome enamels over celadon glaze with the 'Three Friends' (Shochikubai), pine, bamboo and plum, and painted on the interior with two large sprays of plums and camellias and of chrysanthemums, each tied with red ribbons, the rim painted with a red chain of linked ovals, one spur mark on base
