Meiji Period (Late 19th Century), Gilt Mark Oyama Nampo
Painted in polychrome enamels and gilt over a clear crackled glaze, with two panels, of warriors at leisure in a landscape, and of a traveller seated on a terrace at a pavilion, admiring Mount Fuji in the distance, the surrounding areas decorated with flower heads and butterfly-shaped reserves in various patterns, the pierced neck decorated in a similar pattern above a band of chrysanthemums and stylized waves in gilt, the base with a lappet band in gilt, and fitted with a pierced, domed cover moulded with a gilt chrysanthemum finial
