FLOWN leather patch. Approx. 1.25 by 1.5 in. engraved with the "Sigma 7" logo. The patch was part of a "gotcha" launch day gag. The spacecraft flight attitude hand control had a locking pin mechanism to secure the system prior to flight. Spacecraft technicians devised a humorous key ignition system taken from an old automobile including a key attached to a leather carrying case.
