The case surmounted by the seated figure of a classical female with cornucopia and purse, her foot resting on the stump of a tree, with the prow of the ship to the other side, the front of the base cast in relief with classical figures beside a shore and with Mercury steering a ship, with foliate cast bezel to the dial with Roman chapter ring (numerals rubbed, lacking one moon hand), and engine-turned centre, the twin barrel movement with silk suspension and countwheel strike on bell -- 15in. (39cm.) high
