For another spinach jade bottle with slightly flaring neck but with an oval footring, see Hugh Moss, Victor Graham and Ka Bo Tsang, A Treasury of Chinese Snuff Bottles, The Mary and George Bloch Collection, Hong Kong, 1995, vol. I, Jade, pp. 400-401. no. 153. The authors discuss the use of this particular stone for snuff bottles. The example from the Bloch Collection bears the hallmark Xingyouheng Tang (Hall of Constancy). The Mack example is unmarked and its more rounded profile, extreme hollowing and wide neck suggest a slightly earlier date.
For a paler example, see Hugh Moss, Victor Graham and Ka Bo Tsang, The Art of the Chinese Snuff Bottle, The J & J Collection, Hong Kong, 1993, vol. I, p. 119, no. 57. For a rectangular spinach jade 'floater' bottle from the Frederick Von Schleinitz Collection, see Sotheby's, New York, 17 March 1997, lot 303. For another of slightly less globular shape, see Bob C. Stevens, The Collector's Book of Snuff Bottles, New York and Tokyo, 1980, pp. 120-121. no. 428
