In the overall concept of the design, with triple-monopodiae supports and pierced applied panels to the base, these candlesticks relate to those signed by the bronzier Etienne Martincourt (matre in 1763), which are in the Wallace Collection, London (P. Hughes, The Wallace Collection - Catalogue of Furniture, London, 1996, 245 (F167), pp.1240-46).
