The glazed white enamelled dial with Arabic and Roman numerals signed NLAS. ROUSSEL/A PARIS, set with elaborate pierced and engraved scrolled hands, within a scrolled rocaille drum, flanked by acanthus on the left and a flowering branch on the right, surmounted by Diana seated on a cloud, the sun behind her, her dog at her feet, the rocky bottom set with a dragon and two eggs, the movement signed Nlas. Roussel AParis, stamped twice with the C-couronn poinon

The C couronn poinon was a tax mark used in France between March 1745 and February 1749 on any alloy containing copper.
