Chiisa-katana Mei: Yamato Daijo Masahiro, 17th/18th Century, Kodachi Mei: Masanobu, 16th Century
The chiisa-katana blade, honzukuri and very shallow sori with itame-hada and gonome-midare hamon, ubu nakago, 23in. (59.8cm.), in kurokizamisaya, iron aoigata tsuba decorated with a sea-eagle on an anchor in shakudo and gilt takazogan and soft-metal fuchi-kashira; the kodachi blade, shobuzukuri and takashinogi with itame-mokume hada becoming tsukare near the point, suguba-komidare hamon, ubu nakago, 21.3/8in. (53.3cm.), the scabbard and the hilt covered in silvered and and gilt brass engraved with a dragon, tiger and ho-o birds among scrolling thunderclouds, with an iron tsuba (2)
