Katana Mumei, 14th Century; Wakizashi Mumei, 19th Century
The katana blade honzukuri, iorimune, koshi zori with ko-kissaki, mokumehada with ji-nie, sugu-komidare hamon of nie with sunagashi, kaen boshi, o-suriage nakago, 28.5/8in. (72.7cm.); the wakizashi blade honzukuri, iorimune, koshi zori with chugissaki, mokume hada with ji-nie, suguha hamon of nioi, chu-maru boshi, ubu nakago, 21in. (54.1cm.); in their same-nuri saya, iron fuchi-kashira with shakudo rims with foliage in brass and silver hirazogan, signed Hirado ju Shiraishi Masayoshi, matching tsuba with the same motif with the reverses entirely covered in silver nunome, signed Hirado ju Masayoshi zogan, shakudo menuki showing scenes from the Gempei war in iroe takazogan, Goto school, with shirasaya and tsunagi, 19th century (2)
