Mei: Soshu ju Tsunahiro, 17th Century
The blade honzukuri, iorimune, torii zori with chugissaki, itamehada with ji-nie, hamon is suguha with midare of nie and tobiyaki, chu-maru boshi with hakikake, a bo-hi with marudome both sides, ubu nakago, 29in. (73.6cm.); in its restored aogai lacquer saya with a kaeritsuno, shakudo nanako fuchi-kashira depicting Mount Fuji and cherry blossom in iroe takazogan, signed Haruaki Hogen and kao, shakudo nanako tsuba, the rim decorated with kiku and other flowers in gilt takazogan, good shakudo Goto menuki of shishi, with shirasaya and tsunagi, 19th century
