A MING WUCAI SMALL BOWL
WANLI SIX-CHARACTER MARK IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE WITHIN A DOUBLE CIRCLE AND OF THE PERIOD

Finely potted with shallow, rounded sides and lipped rim, decorated on the exterior with a pair of striding, five-clawed dragons in underglaze blue with red spines and green manes and tufts, shown in mutual pursuit of flaming pearls amidst ruyi-form clouds, the interior decorated in underglaze blue with a phoenix roundel within double-line borders, minute chip to foot rim--4 1/8in. (10.5cm.) diam.
