Engraved portraits of the 2 editors, engraved plate in final vol. of text, and 440 plates, plans and maps in the plate volumes, many folding, several folding printed tables, half-titles. (One vol. of plates lightly waterstained.) Contemporary mottled calf, gilt spines with contrasting labels, double gilt fillet round sides, red edges (a few spines lightly wormed, a few occasional signs of wear). Provenance: Vicomte de Noailles (bookplate).
