A good gilt-brass helmet regulation plate bearing QVC Royal Crest on enamel ground within gilt and enamel Garter, above title-scroll inscribed KINGS DRAGOON GUARDS in incised gilt metal, with scarlet horsehair plume.

Lot Essay

This shako belonged to Captain William Touche who served with the 2nd Madras N.I. from 1840 until 1852. He died of cholera at Madras in November 1853.
