The first with octagonal barrel stamped with maker's details and patent dates to 'Sept. 7. 1858', roll engraved cylinder, hinged trigger-guard forming the rammer-lever, and walnut grips; the second stamped with maker's details on the top-strap, bar-hammer with patent date 'April 16 1845', roll engraved cylinder (worn), and walnut grips (lightly pitted and worn throughout)
