With belled browned twist barrel signed at the breech and with spring bayonet above, scroll engraved case-hardened patent breech, engraved case-hardened tang and back-action lock, the latter signed, figured walnut three-quarter stock, chequered grip, scroll engraved blued iron trigger-guard and butt-plate, white metal escutcheon, blued barrel-bolts, case-hardened ramrod-pipes, original brass-mounted ramrod, and most of its original finish: in original lined and fitted oak case (one corner chipped) with some accessories including a copper flask, the lid with illustrated trade label of circa 1826-1855, London proof marks

The Bond firm was managed by E. and W. Bond from 1826 to 1855 at the 45 Cornhill address, and continued thereafter at 142 Leadenhall Street until 1859. It supplied the Board of Ordnance and the Hon. East India Company, and also acted as viewers and gunmakers to the Hudson's Bay Company
