signed on the vertical circle Carl Zeiss, Jena No. 984, the vertical circle with silvered scale, vernier and magnifier, the upper telescope with adjustable focusing, angled objective glass, with balance weight, reflecting mirror, the table raised on a nickel-plated pillar with adjustment screws, the horizontal circle with silvered scale and vernier, with bracket support, micrometer fine adjustment, raised on a lacquered-brass tapering pillar support with black enamelled, iron tripod stand, in the original fitted case with maker's instruction label, with nickel-brass carrying handle -- 16in. (42cm.) high (objective glass cracked)
