signed on the silvered compass dial KELVIN & JAMES WHITE LTD GLASGOW, the telescope with rack and pinion focusing, cross-wire adjusters, graduated bubble level and lens hood, the axis raised on twin A-frames, supporting the 5inch diameter circle, with silvered scale, twin verniers and magnifiers, with tangent-screw fine adjustment and clamp, the horizontal plate with compass box, enclosing the chamfered silvered horizontal circle with twin verniers (the bubble level missing), on tripod attachment, in the original mahogany carrying case -- 13in. (34.3cm.) wide
