A well engineered 2in. scale model of the twin cylinder Shand Mason horse drawn Fire Appliance originally built for the Strathord Forestry Estate 1895
and built by R. Cottingham from drawings by A.G. Adams, with brazed copper boiler with 'J' tubes and fittings including water and pressure gauges, safety, blower and clack valve and washout plug. Engine details include twin vertical cylinders in. bore x in. stroke with direct coupled water pumps via scotch cranks, cylinder head lubricators, oil box and pipes, twin spoked flyweels, eccentric driven feed pump and by-pass, compression domes and pump change over cock. Chassis details include channel section side frames, turning lock, sprung axles with metal-tyred spoked wheels with brass hub caps, wooden body with water tank, driver's seat and foot boards, hand brakes to rear wheels, two branches, front and rear lamps and suction hose, finished in red and polished brightwork, the mahogany body unpainted as the original -- 14 x 22.1.2in.
