Blue interlaced L's enclosing date letter D for 1756-1757, painter's mark for Evans
Painted in colours with a vignette of game birds on branches and in a landscape, the everted sides reserved with foliate scroll lobed panels on the gilt trellis ground

Lot Essay

The present tray must be one of the earliest examples made of this model, as the first factory records for it are for the biscuit kiln in April/May 1756. See La Porcelaine de Vincennes, Paris, 1991, no. 194.
