Blue interlaced L's enclosing date letters KK for 1787. painter's mark for Mme. Noualhier, gilder's mark for Mirey, the cup incised 47 and 46, the saucer incised 77
Painted in colours, the saucer with a quiver of arrows beside a basket of flowers, the wide border and the cup with circular panels enclosing acrostics reserved on the pale yellow ground painted with trailing flowering foliage and blue urns supported on puce-lined pedestals entwined with flowers

Lot Essay

The acrostics on the cup can be read as 'Elle a mon coeur' and 'Il respire pour elle', those on the saucer are more problematic.
