The arched case with plinth and cupola above, with flambeau and urn finials, caryatids trailing flowers to the front angles, carrying handles to the sides above cast sound frets, on scroll feet, the square dial within an openwork foliate scroll frame, with silvered rings for slow/fast and eight bells/Cambridge chimes to the top corners, each with matted centre, chime/silent adjustment above 60, signed on a silvered plaque below XII A & H. ROWLEY 180 GRAYS INN RD. LONDON, the substantial triple chain fusee movement with anchor escapemnt, quarter chimes on eight bells and hour strike on gong, with pendulum holdfast to the backplate with spotted finish -- 27in. (69cm.) high
