A SHAKUDO NANAKO AND GILT MITOKOROMONO
MIDDLE EDO PERIOD (CIRCA 1750), GIZU, SIGNED YOSHINAGA

The oval tsuba with gilt ropework rim is decorated on both sides in very high gilt relief over a shakudo nanako ground with sprays of flowers and foliage, unsigned, height 7.9 cm; the matching fuchi-kashira signed Yoshinaga. Together with a pair of Narita shibuichi fuchi-kashira, Middle Edo Period (circa 1750), Edo, the shibuichi core of which is deeply carved with waves and highlighted with gilt chidori, signed Narita Eizui (5)
