Maker's mark of Samuel Richards, Jr., Philadelphia, circa 1815
Comprising coffee pot, two teapots, covered sugar bowl, cream jug and waste bowl; each globular on spreading circular foot, the body engraved on one side with monogram HSH, the shoulder and foot with beaded and anthemion borders, the eagle-headed scroll spout with leaf join, the upswept scroll handle with wood insulators and leaf joins, the hinged stepped cover with laurel leaf band and surmounted by a foliate calyx with acorn finial, marked under bases
The coffee pot 11in. high; gross weight 164oz.
