Circa 1785, attributed to Thomas Compign
The removable top mounted with a circular gilt-tortoiseshell panel carved in relief with a harbor scene in the manner of Claude-Joseph Vernet, within a trailing foliate border, the body painted with trophies emblematic of love, music and pastoral pursuits, the base painted with cooing doves and flowers
