Lot Essay

The present painting clearly responds to the period in which Luis Felipe Noé began breaking the boundaries of the canvas and expanding into the multiple dimensions of spatial composition. All this to create compositional chaos and to grant the viewer multiple readings. Noé seeked to decentralize the meaning of painting into an endless oposition of stimuli, as he stated in an interview for a show in the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, Buenos Aires, in 1965.
