As Robson Fig. 93, with 38 in. (97 cm) fullered blade, plain apart from a small etched panel inscribed with maker's name HAMBURGER ROGERS & Co., 30 King St., Covent Garden, London, ornate brass four-bar hilt, the top of the guard bearing the Grenade inside and outside, wire-bound fishskin grip and Thunderbolt pommel, steel scabbard with ornate brass mounts (pommel possibly replaced, small area of fishskin missing from grip, scabbard well-fitting but probably associated)

This sword was acquired from the 9th Marquis of Londonderry, whose ancestor, the 3rd Marquis, was Colonel of the 2nd Life Guards from 1843 until 1854.
