Lot Essay

The Reverend Francis Trevor Robinson completed his education at Trinity College, Cambridge and took Holy Orders in 1902. Entering the Royal Navy as a Chaplain in August 1906, he served in H.M.S. Hyacinth off Somaliland and in Persian Gulf and was aboard H.M.S. Audacious at the outbreak of hostilities in August 1914. Shortly afterwards he joined the Hospital Ship Plassy, and in July 1917 the Training Establishment Ganges. The post-War era found him employed at the Royal Marine Barracks, Deal and in Portsmouth Dockyard, from which latter establishment he retired in October 1927. He was latterly Vicar of Chobham, Surrey.
