Lady Elena Bennett, the second daughter of Thomas Brooke-Jones, married Thomas Jewell Bennett in 1917. Thomas Bennett, the principal proprietor of the Times of India was created a C.I.E. in 1903, served as Unionist M.P. for Sevenoaks between 1918-23 and was Knighted in 1921.
